Privacy Policy

Measur ("Measur," "we," "us") provides AI-powered estimating, job costing, and proposal software for construction professionals at getmeasur.com and app.getmeasur.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Controller and contact

Measur is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service. Contact: hello@getmeasur.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email, company name, and password (stored as a salted hash) or Google sign-in credentials.

Project content. Estimates, proposals, invoices, material catalogs, learned prices, client contact details you enter, and files you upload — including plans, site photos, and receipts.

Payment information. Subscription billing is processed by Stripe. We never store full card numbers on our servers.

Usage data. Log data, device/browser type, and feature usage that helps us operate and improve the Service.

3. How we use information

To provide and improve the Service: generating takeoffs and estimates, reading receipts you scan, posting job costs, building learned prices scoped to your company, producing proposals and invoices, sending the emails you ask us to send, and providing support. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project content to advertise to you.

4. Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (security, service improvement, and fraud prevention, balanced against your rights); consent (marketing emails and optional integrations you enable); and legal obligation (for example, retaining billing records as required by law).

5. AI processing

Some features send your content (for example, plan images, site photos, and receipt photos) to AI service providers — currently Anthropic — to extract scope, quantities, prices, and change-order candidates. This processing is performed to deliver the feature you invoked. We do not use your content to train our own models, and we configure third-party AI providers not to train on your data where such controls are available. Learned prices generated from your corrections and receipts are private to your company and are never shared with or shown to other Measur customers.

6. Google user data

If you choose to connect a Google account, Measur requests only the narrow scopes needed for the feature you enable:

Gmail (gmail.send). Used solely to send emails you compose in Measur — proposals, invoices, and client messages — from your own address, when you press Send. Measur does not read, list, store, or analyze your inbox or any received email.

Google Drive (drive.file). Used solely to save files Measur creates for you (such as proposal and invoice PDFs) to your Drive and to open files you explicitly pick. Measur cannot see the rest of your Drive.

Google Sign-In (openid, email, profile). Used to authenticate you and create your account.

Limited Use disclosure. Measur's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke Measur's access at any time from your Google Account security settings or from the Integrations page in Measur; revocation disables the connected features but does not delete your Measur account.

7. Service providers

We use vetted subprocessors to run the Service: Amazon Web Services (file storage), Supabase (database hosting), Upstash (queueing), Anthropic (AI processing), Stripe (payments), Resend and Google (email delivery), SerpApi (live retail pricing lookups — product queries only, never your personal data), and Vercel (web hosting). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.

8. International transfers

Data is processed in the United States. Transfers of personal data from the EEA or UK rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses with subprocessors where applicable.

9. Data retention and deletion

We retain your content while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@getmeasur.com; we will delete or de-identify your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Billing records are kept as legally required, and backups purge on a rolling schedule.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to customer data is scoped per company at the application layer, session credentials are protected with industry-standard practices, and OAuth tokens are stored encrypted. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we design for defense in depth.

11. Cookies and analytics

The Service uses only strictly necessary cookies (for authentication and session management where applicable) and privacy-respecting analytics without cross-site tracking. Our marketing site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is designed to operate without cookies for visitor identification. We do not use advertising cookies.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. California residents may have CCPA-style rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain sales or sharing (we do not sell personal information). EEA and UK users should also see the GDPR section below. Contact hello@getmeasur.com and we will honor verified requests.

13. EEA and UK rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local EU data protection authority or the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Requests may be sent to hello@getmeasur.com and will be honored within one month, subject to lawful extensions.

14. Children

The Service is a business tool intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

15. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
